{"id":3166,"date":"2019-12-17T15:14:57","date_gmt":"2019-12-17T15:14:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deeperricherfuller.wordpress.com\/?p=3166"},"modified":"2020-09-03T18:59:19","modified_gmt":"2020-09-03T18:59:19","slug":"my-perceptions-verses-the-word-of-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deeperricherfuller.com\/?p=3166","title":{"rendered":"My Perceptions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Which do I trust?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>My perceptions of God or the Word\u2019s description of God?<\/p>\n<p>This is the thought I\u2019ve been sitting with the past few days. My pastor said on Sunday, <i>God loves to move.\u00a0<\/i>And a part of me said, <i>Yes<\/i>. And another part of me said, <i>I don\u2019t see that.\u00a0<\/i>So often it feels like, looks like, my seeking is what keeps my relationship with God moving forward. As I write that, I know it\u2019s wrong. I KNOW it. But I don\u2019t.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pastor also referenced Phillippians 4:6-7, which talks about how God\u2019s peace guards our hearts and minds. Guards? That word conjures a vivid image in my head. Have I ever experienced being guarded by His peace? Does He really stand guard around my heart and mind, making sure the peace He\u2019s given me isn\u2019t snatched away? Possibly \u2026 at this moment I don\u2019t have a specific memory of that. But I\u2019m on the lookout, because maybe I just haven\u2019t recognized it.<\/p>\n<p>See, I\u2019ve been down this road before. I\u2019ve come to that fork that forces me to choose my perceptions or the Word\u2019s claims. Which will I trust? And once again, I\u2019m choosing the Word. I\u2019ve seen how many times my point of view has lead me into darkness and despair. Anger and fear. And though His movements in my life are not clear at the moment, I am turning my mind and heart towards believing He is on the move.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>I know this kind of faith will eventually bare fruit.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I HAVE experienced that.<\/p>\n<p>How about you?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Where is your heart divided? I encourage you to name it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>To put it out there in the light so that your choice is clear.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Your perceptions or God\u2019s Word?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It is rarely easy to walk by faith, but it is so fruitful when we do it. \u00a0<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
