About Me

I am in search of a deeper, richer, fuller life in Jesus. All my hope lies in Him. Throughout my life, I have wrestled with desire, sorrow and doubt. And though I have fallen into despair many times over, I keep finding a deeper, richer and fuller hope. For God has used both good and hard times to draw me closer to Himself, His love and His rich purposes for my life. In both sorrow and joy, He is at work changing me, maturing me and using me. This is how I’ve come to believe there is hope, no matter what we face.

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. I LOVE books, good conversation, learning, coffee, creation, chocolate, gardening, essential oils, making jewelry, music and sharing all these things with family and friends.

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Experience

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Phoenix, Arizona for 28 years. I work with willing teenagers, men & women, couples and groups. I address the issues of abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and intimacy. When appropriate I offer Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for the healing of traumatic experiences.

Philosophy

As a Christian, my faith and knowledge of God informs my understanding of people and problems. It is a part of all the work I do, even if it’s never discussed. As a trained counselor and therapist, I am enriched by all that has been discovered in the field of psychology and I incorporate what I have learned into the therapy process.

There is no exact formula for finding hope and wholeness, but I believe this: we are all loved and wanted by the God who made the heavens, the earth, the birds, the trees and every human soul. I see each person as completely unique, with a story and a journey like no other. Therefore, I am phenomenally grateful that God is present and at work in the healing process, because He is the only one who sees our lives clearly.

Counseling & Therapy

I offer a blend of Counseling, Therapy and Soul Care, which are all personal, relational and collaborative. Counseling is the practical piece, applying insight and wisdom to problems. Therapy is process, getting to the roots of our struggles. Soul Care is paying attention to the Holy Spirit’s leading into deeper, richer, fuller life with the Father and the Son.

Speaking

I love speaking at meetings, gatherings and retreats. I have created a variety of workshops that nurture healing, wholeness and fullness of life.

I had opportunity to schedule Karen North to speak to more than 150 mothers and daughters from the NCL Moon Valley chapter.  With her engaging stories and empowering message she was the perfect speaker to kick off our new year!  When many of our members asked for her contact information and the slides from her presentation, I knew our choice for a speaker was spot on.  But the biggest compliment came when my daughter said she was the best speaker of our NCL experience!
